Dried Burdock Root is often taken internally as a tea. The roots of the burdock plant are rich in minerals that promote sweating and urination (a natural diuretic). The diuretic action relieves the soreness and swelling caused by arthritis, rheumatism, sciatica and lumbago.

- Externally the cooled tea is used to assist in the treatment of skin problems such as eczema, psoriasis, haemorrhoids and even canker sores
- For the treatment of acne, you can use burdock as a face wash. Apply cooled tea to the skin with a washcloth and rinse with cold water
- Increases the flow of urine and promotes sweating (to reduce water weight)

How to use burdock root
Herbal Tea (deconcoction): Place 1 teaspoon into a cup of water. Bring to boil and let simmer for 10-15 mins before straining. Drink up to three times a day.
